Unfair Competition

UNFAIR COMPETITION

Unfair Competition 101: Causing economic injury to a business through deceptive or wrongful business practices. Includes confusing potential consumers as to suggestions or allegations of non-existent sponsorship, affiliation or connection between two separate entities/goods/services, etc.

HVS Value: We have decades of experience representing clients in all of the many facets of this broad area of law, including trade dress issues, disputes involving comparative advertising, and false and misleading advertising claims.  The manufacture and sale of counterfeit goods, the unauthorized use of product photographs and advertising text, false claims of sponsorship and affiliation, and dealings with employees, former employees, partners and other business associates, are but representative examples of unfair competition issues with which we have extensive experience.
