OUR PRACTICE
We offer a unique array of legal services in, and relating to, the field of intellectual property law. We represent clients from across the country and throughout the world from our offices in Potomac, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, DC.
While we represent clients in all areas of intellectual property, unlike most traditional intellectual property firms, our practice emphasizes those issues unique to trademark law, the broader field of unfair competition, and, increasingly, copyright law.
Our practice has evolved and grown along with the advent of the electronic age. Consequently, we have gained substantial expertise in cutting edge issues such as:
· Disputes involving the copying of business websites.
· Permissible and impermissible trademark uses through the Internet.
· Disputes involving claims of website ownership.
· The constitutional guarantee of due process in instances in which jurisdiction in federal court is based upon a client’s Internet presence.
We occupy a special niche in representing the intellectual property and the protection and commercialization of rights associated with famous historic locations. In this regard we are proud to represent the owners and operators of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater and Pierre Koenig’s Stahl House, both icons of American architecture.
We are available to assist U.S. and international clients in the procurement, evaluation, maintenance, assertion, defense, and commercialization of all intellectual property rights.
